KinderKubs: The earliest group they teach is four to six year olds, because they are developmentally able to handle the rigors of a group class. At this age, the martial arts provides the self-protection, self-confidence and self-discipline needed for preparing this impressionable age for life.

At ages seven to twelve, martial arts provides skills that are easily transferable to sports as well as giving young adults a sense of preparedness for the world they are about to inherit.

Sensei Darren, owner and head instructor at White Tiger Dojo, practices a traditional style of Okinawan Karate called Isshin Kempo. This style of martial arts is unique to Okinawa and played an important part in defending the Okinawan farmers and fisherman from the invading Japanese samurai. Today, they use these same martial principles to teach people how to defend themselves in the modern world.

White Tiger Dojo is located at 99 Industrial Road, Berkeley Heights. Call (908)665-8983 for information and to reserve a spot.
