SUMMIT, NJ - On Thursday, September 10th, 2016, the Overlook Auxiliary celebrates 100 years of Commitment, Compassion, and Community with a cocktail party honoring its members.  Our festivities take place at Canoe Brook Country Club and kick off at 6 pm.  We hope you will join us in celebrating our accomplishments and looking to the future!  Tickets can be purchased on our website at www.oaux.org or by calling our office at 908-522-2004.

“In 1916, sixteen ladies got together for the benefit of their community hospital.  They folded bandages, sewed linens and redecorated hospital rooms.  From those early days the Auxiliary has grown into so much more.  An important part of a community is its hospital; and as members of this community we are proud to support Overlook Medical Center with our fund raising endeavors and plan to do so for another 100 years….after all it is our dedicated members who make the Auxiliary a viable organization.” – Elsa Russell, Co-President of the Overlook Auxiliary.

About the Overlook Auxiliary For 100 years, the dedicated volunteers of the Overlook Auxiliary have cultivated a compassionate and comforting environment throughout the entire Overlook Medical Center community with active volunteering and imaginative fundraising.   The efforts of the Auxiliary provide many of the extras that make Overlook Medical Center so special to our area.  With over 300 active members, the Auxiliary supports important medical center programs including The Valerie Center for pediatric cancer and blood disorders, the Eating Disorders Program, Hospice/Homecare, Oncology Center, Palliative Care, Pastoral Care, and Social Services.  We also fund annual nursing scholarships for deserving candidates and have contributed funding for large projects including the Caregiver's Center, the Emergency Department and the Pediatric Playroom.  The Auxiliary also runs a biennial Kitchen Tour which features several of the area's fabulous, private kitchens.

For more information on the Overlook Auxiliary or for media inquiries, please visit our website at www.oaux.org or contact our office at 908-522-2004.
