Overlook Auxiliary Spring Luncheon and Annual Meeting Set for May 11; Keynote Speaker to Detail Concept, Benefits of 'Mindfulness'

SUMMIT, NJ - The Overlook Auxiliary will celebrate its Spring Luncheon and Annual Meeting on May 11 featuring keynote speaker Charlotte Pendleton, who will discuss the concept of 'mindfulness'. The event will be held at Baltusrol Golf Club, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The Overlook Auxiliary is a volunteer organization committed to serving the entire Overlook Medical Center community, fostering a compassionate and comforting environment through hands-on volunteering and innovative fundraising.

'Mindfulness' is one of the hot topics of the day, recently featured in New Jersey Monthly Magazine. Pendleton will focus on "Simple Tips for Mindful Decompression," designed to bring a practical approach to practicing mindfulness in our everyday lives.

Pendleton is a resident of Chatham, and is a certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teacher, Reiki healer and Feng Shui Practitioner. She spent the last 25 years in the corporate world in sales managing sales teams in the fertility and genetics industry and helped launch two companies, Freedom Fertility Pharmacy, the largest fertility pharmacy in the country, and Good Start Genetics, a forerunner for the pre-conception carrier screening market.

At GeneDX, Ms. Pendleton managed the northeast team who sell cardio, neuro and inherited cancer genetic testing to hospitals, doctors, geneticists and genetic counselors. Pendleton has a B.S. in Exercise Science from James Madison University (JMU), where she minored in Psychology, attending JMU on a full athletic scholarship for gymnastics.

In addition to the speaker, the luncheon -- co-chaired by Christina Amundson, Stacy Beckett and Jeanne Lawler -- will feature a raffle full of fun items and the return of some favorite vendors that will surely help attendees shop for last minute Mother's Day gifts.

Watchung Borough Mayor and Council Approve Affordable Housing Settlement

WATCHUNG, NJ -The Watchung Borough Council voted on Thursday night  to settle its third round affordable housing obligation mandated by the state of New Jersey. Watchung Borough’s immunity from builder's remedy lawsuits  expires on June 30.
