Overlook Medical Center will host its annual 5K to benefit the Summit Police Athletic League (PAL) and Atlantic Neuroscience Institute Brain Aneurysm Fund on Tuesday, June 25 at 7 p.m.  The race begins at the Summit Village Green at the corner of Broad Street and Summit Avenue. Family fun on the Green will include music, games, and entertainment for all ages from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. To register for the 5K online, visit www.Overlook5K.com.  On-site registration begins at 5:30 p.m.  Race start at 7 p.m with awards ceremony at 8 p.m.  Entry fees are $30. The Summit Running Company is the Overlook 5K Presenting Sponsor.  Other sponsors include Atlantic NeuroSurgical Specialists, Basking Ridge Country Club, Hilltop Community Bank, New Jersey American Water, Edible Arrangements, and Summit Community Programs.
Award categories will be for the first, second and third place overall male and female; first, second and third place in 10 year age groups starting with 14 years and under, 15-19, 20 to 80+ years.
The Summit Police Athletic League is a non-profit charitable organization run by a volunteer board that is comprised of Summit residents and dedicated Summit Police Department officers. The Summit P.A.L. underwrites or runs numerous programs throughout the year for the benefit of the youth of Summit, including the nationally recognized D.A.R.E. program. Our goal of the Summit PAL is to promote activities that foster lifelong health, community spirit and a feeling of goodwill and awareness between the children and police officers.
