BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Berkeley Heights PAL soccer is looking forward to the fall season and has opened registration for incoming 1st through 4th graders.
Of course, this year will be different with the pandemic. The league is consulting guidelines from the CDC and NJ Youth Soccer to establish safe play guidelines for players, coaches and spectators (note: based on Governor Murphy’s executive order, NJ Youth Soccer returned to full play on July 6th).
The primary goals of PAL soccer is to introduce players to fundamental soccer skills, to foster good teamwork and to have fun.
Teams meet each Saturday morning for a 90 minute session, approximately 40 minutes is set aside for practicing skills and the remaining 50 minutes is used to play a game against another in-town PAL team. The ten week season begins on Saturday, September 12, and continues through November 14.
The cost per player is $75, which includes a soccer ball, dri-fit team jersey and cinch sack. Parents may register their children on the Berkeley Heights PAL site (www.bhpal.org), which currently has a “register now, pay later” program that defers payment until the season is confirmed on Sept 1.
Registering now allows for the league to plan for team jerseys and other equipment.
