WHAT IT’S ABOUT . . .
This new book describes a way to combine a physical workout with a spiritual workout. Physical training is good, spiritual training is better (a paraphrase of 1 Timothy 4:7-8). What started out as difficulty counting and remembering lap numbers while swimming has developed into a ready-to-apply system of praying while working out. The result is a synergistic boost to both prayer life and physical health. And it can be applied to just about any form of physical exercise.
Stories from the Author’s life are also woven into the text, including family stories, student ministry tales and Amor Ministries mission trip experiences. Author’s royalty proceeds from this book go to support the work of Amor Ministries.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
John would describe himself, first, as a sinner saved by grace. He is a widower, a father and now a grandfather. He has completed a successful career as an engineer in the petroleum industry, but his heart and his passion are, and have long been, in student ministry. He finds working with students both challenging and uplifting – he’d say it keeps him young. He is a church elder, a Sunday school teacher, and worship leader. He treasures the gift of time with family and friends. He loves students, music, the outdoors, sports, cookouts, being active, and, oh yes, writing.
