The Board of Education and a Core Advisory Committee of distinguished citizens appointed to assist the Board in the development of the school district strategic vision for the next decade is requesting input from the entire community. All Berkeley Heights residents are encouraged to participate in the Community Engagement Survey that is posted on the school district website: www.bhpsnj.org.
The Board and Advisory Committee believe that residents’ perception of the school district, its educational programs and support services will provide a valuable input component as the Committee and other stakeholders who are involved in the visioning process move forward.
Community Survey Open through December 30, 2011
The survey will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete online and may be submitted anonymously. The survey will be available through Friday, December 30, 2011.
In addition to the Community Survey, all district employees have been requested to provide input through a District Performance Survey which will be open until Friday, December 9, 2011. Over 1,500 high school and middle school students have participated in a Student Voice Survey. The staff and students’ input when combined with the community input survey will provide invaluable information to assist the Core Advisory Committee and consulting firm, W.H. Adams & Associates, LLC, as they review and analyze student achievement, fiscal and community demographics data.
This analysis will be utilized along with 21st Century futurist projections and the skills that have been identified as needed for student success in college, career and life.
