WATCHUNG, NJ - A reward of up to $1,500 is being offered by Somerset County Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for a hit-and-run in the Borough on Oct. 8.

In response to the hit-and-run, the Watchung Borough Council approved a resolution on Thursday calling on Somerset County to assist in improving safety on Valley Road and Mountain Boulevard. R3: Resolution Urging the County to Address Traffic and Safety Concerns in the Borough and Implement Pedestrian / Biking Improvements along our County Roads.

A 12-year-old pedestrian was hit crossing Valley Road at approximately 6:45 p.m. by a vehicle described as a white 2010-2014 Hyundai Sonata, possibly with front-end damage and a missing Hyundai emblem, police said on Friday.
