BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The third grade class at Mountain Park School assembled "Rookie Solar Racers" while learning about electricity last week. A grant funded by the Berkeley Heights Education Foundation.

With the supervision of their parents, teachers and Principal Jon Morisseau, the students in Ms. McCutcheon, Mr. Quinonez and Mrs. Hozmann's classes followed written directions and put together this hands on project.

Without a cloud in the sky, students went outside and witnessed the solar panel convert the sun's energy into electrical energy and chased their Rookie Solar Racers across the blacktop.  Students had fun and were proud of their special accomplishments.
