BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - James Ruggiero, a graduated senior from the Gov. Livingston High School track and field team, traveled to North Carolina to compete with the best in the nation at the New Balance H.S. Track Nationals on June 19 and 20.

Ruggiero qualified and was placed in the third of four flights throwing 161 feet 10 inches to tie for 13th place.

He will be attending West Virginia University in the fall and plans to throw unattached in college with a goal to compete in the Junior Olympics next year. (Note: West Virginia University does not have a track and field team.)

Ruggiero is competing at the club level this summer with TeamLee Track Club in Palisades Park.
