Volunteers are needed for two of SAGE Eldercare's services which support older adults in the community and enable them to remain living independently in their homes. Opportunities exist in the Grocery Shopping Service where interested individuals can join the volunteer team and shop for residents of Millburn, Short Hills, Springfield and parts of Union Township. Volunteers meet at the ShopRite at the corner of Main and Willow in Millburn every Thursday morning between 8:30-9:00 A.M.

SAGE is also seeking Meals on Wheels (MOW) volunteers to deliver meals to residents of Chatham. Deliveries are made Monday through Friday with scheduled pick up of meals between 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. On Monday-Wednesday-Fridays, meals are picked up in Madison at the Madison Senior Center in the Rexford S. Tucker Apartments at 15 Chateau Therry Ave., and on Tuesday and Thursdays pick up is at the Church of Christ in Chatham at the corner of Fairmount and Southern Boulevards. Each day the Chatham area is divided into two routes: The Apartments (consisting of Main Street and North of Main Street), and the Township, (which includes the township and lower part of the borough.

"SAGE has many dedicated volunteers," says Marianne Kranz, Director of Volunteers and Meals on Wheels. "In spite of their dedication, we often experience a shortage during the summer months due to vacations and other reasons and we need new volunteers to fill the void."

Anyone interested in volunteering can download a volunteer application from SAGE's website at www.sageeldercare.org, or contact Marianne Kranz with questions at 908-598-5514 or at mkranz@sageeldercare.org
