BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Local senior citizens are invited to Community Bingo on Monday, September 28 at 9 a.m. under the tents at Delicious Heights in Berkeley Heights. The event is sponsored by Autumn Lake Healthcare at Berkeley Heights, Berkeley Heights Recreation Department and Delicious Heights.
With seniors feeling the brunt of this pandemic with isolation and loneliness -- Community Bingo will engage the senior community for a fun social gathering in a safe atmosphere. "These seniors need socializing more than ever," said committee member Cathy Balsamo. "It's been a long lonely few months for them."
Last week's inaugural event was a huge success, said Balsamo, who also works for Autumn Lake Healthcare at Berkeley Heights, and gave away prizes.
"I realize we need to be careful and diligent, but..... it feels so great to be out, safe, masked and socially distanced with my friends, this was a beautiful day," said a local senior.
"It filled my heart with joy seeing the senior community so happy and experiencing a bit of normalcy," said Balsamo.
Delicious Heights provided coffee, water and snacks. The next social Bingo will be held on Monday, September 28 at 9 a.m. at Delicious Heights, 428 Springfield Avenue in Berkeley Heights. Don't miss!
