In response to many local residents concerns, State Senator Thomas H. Kean will address the effect of bill S-2664 which would deregulate telephone and cable service in New Jersey and eliminate consumer protections. The result would be rate increases, the end of basic telephone service and extra fees for landlines. There would be no recourse through the Board of Public Utilities in the event of power outages and poor quality service. New Jersey AARP strongly opposes the passage of deregulation. All interested parties are urged to attend this meeting.
Upcoming trips include a Tribute to Dean Martin followed by a six-hour visit to Mohegan Sun Casino at Pocono Downs on April 27.
