Stuttering Workshop for Parents

Emily Root, licensed speech-language pathologist, is hosting a free stuttering workshop for parents at the Berkeley Heights Public Library on Tuesday, November 14th, at 7pm.

Emily Root, a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist is hosting a Stuttering Workshop for parents of children and young adults who stutter on Tuesday, November 14th at 7 p.m., at the Berkeley Heights Public Library.  The workshop will allow for parents to connect and gain support from other families who are also going through the Stuttering journey.  

In addition, Emily will be discussing the latest research and therapy techniques in treating and managing both core behaviors in stuttering, as well as the psychosocial factors which can greatly affect a child who stutters.  

Emily Root has been in private practice at the Pediatric Speech, Language & Learning Center in Berkeley Heights for 13 years, where she specializes in treating children and young adults who stutter. Currently  Emily is completing training to become one of only six Board Certified Stuttering Specialists in the state of New Jersey.  

The workshop is free and open to all parents and caregivers. Therapists and teachers interested in learning more about children who stutter, are also invited to attend.  Space is limited so please RSVP at emlroot@gmail.com or call 908-790-9555.
