BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ  - Wednesday, Aug. 30,  Susanne Cordillo officially opened Sublime Salon and Day Spa at its new home at 482 Springfield Ave. "Its been a long time coming," said Cordillo on Monday, as workmen applied the finishing touches to her salon. "I've been working on this for a year and it's finally coming to fruition." Cordillo was involved every step of the way, as she has been since she opened Sublime Salon 24 years ago, "We're going into our twenty-fifth year in September," she added.

The salon's new home is just around the corner and up Summit Avenue from it's previous location at 206 Sherman Ave. Inside it is sophisticated and comfortable, with a black and silver color scheme on the main floor with touches of red and, chandeliers that sparkle. Its clients, who include men, women and children, will walk into the salon's main floor where they will be able to take advantage of the full array of hair care, from coloring, cutting, hair styling and blow outs, as well as make-up services along with manicures and pedicures. Those who are booked for the day spa will proceed to the second floor, where they can enjoy a therapeutic massage, a spa facial, microdermabrasion or waxing services. Sublime now offers spray tanning and eyelash extensions.

Spa packages and gift certificates are available and the spa is "kid friendly," said Cordillo. The larger location means more staff and Cordillo added that she has hired a new massage therapist, a waxer and a junior stylist. The new building features a ramp to the side door on Summit Avenue, parking in the rear of the building and on the street, and a front door accessible from Springfield Avenue.
