BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - At the second annual Winter Walk, which was a huge success and wonderful family event in downtown Berkeley Heights, the Suburban Chamber of Commerce (SCC) held a free drawing at its booth in Peppertown Park for four $25 Berkeley Heights Gift Certificates. With over 600 individuals filling out chances to win, we are encouraged that there is interest in this program.
The lucky winners of the $25 Berkeley Heights Gift Certificates from the Winter Walk are: Rosanna Cardone, Alicia Meyers, Bob Gartna all from Berkeley Heights and Patty O'Brian from Mountainside.
Each gift certificate comes with a packet that includes instructions on how to use [which is simple, you spend it at a participating Berkeley Heights business like cash]; a list of participating Berkeley Heights businesses (which is growing); and instructions for the business to remind them how to easily cash the gift certificate. The funds which support the Berkeley Heights Gift Certificate program are held at the Berkeley Heights Investors Bank.
Interestingly, an American Express study has shown that most of the money spent at local businesses stays in that community, while very little money spent online and outside a community comes back to it. Hence, the Shop Local Gift Certificate program was started.
While this program has been slowly growing, the Suburban Chamber of Commerce, which represents small business in Berkeley Heights, feels it's important to encourage residents to shop and dine in town. It's nice to have a town filled with vibrant business that both serve and give back.
Berkeley Heights Gift Certificates make great gifts for teachers, coaches, family and friends. They are available at SCC HQ in Summit, Smith Chiropractic and DERCO Print. They can be purchased in any amount for face value, and the SCC does not charge any fee for this service.
