In light of recent tragedies and growing awareness surrounding mental health issues, the Summit Area YMCA will be hosting a Mental Health Fair on September 21st from 4:30-6:30pm in their main lobby. The Mental Health Fair is dedicated to raising awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and illness. Experts from organizations such as Overlook Hospital, Imagine, Caring Contact, National Alliance for Mental Illness, and more will be available to answer questions as well as provide resources. Topics will include grief counseling, suicide and harm prevention, mindfulness, school and social anxiety, group and family therapy, etc.  Join us to learn more about ways we can help our loved ones and neighbors who are dealing with mental health issues. Fair is free and open to the community.

For adults who are also interested in mental health first aid training, the YMCA will also be hosting Mental Health First Aid Training on September 17 and 24, from 8:30-12:30pm. Cost is $50 for training materials and certification. For more information, please contact: Julie Wagenblast, Youth and Teen Director at Julie.wagenblast@thesay.org or visit our website at www.thesay.org.
