Summit Medical Group's Breast Health Center has earned recognition from the National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC) as a Certified Participant in its National Quality Measure for Breast Centers (NQMBC) . The certification recognizes Summit Medical Group's participation in activities that increase the quality of care given to patients with breast cancer.
Summit Medical Group's Breast Health Center offers comprehensive support and care for benign conditions and all stages of breast cancer. The Breast Health Center provides expert diagnosis, treatment, and education to help patients maintain their breast health or adjust to, cope with, and manage their disease.
A key feature of SMG's Breast Health Center is its navigation services, provided by a certified breast health nurse navigator. Women receiving care through SMG's Breast Health Center are ensured of timely access to breast care services and information. Additionally, SMG's breast health nurse navigator will coordinate patient care to minimize delayed and missed appointments and foster a satisfying health care experience. SMG Breast Health Navigator Carol Boyer notes, "Our exceptional, compassionate team of surgical and medical oncologists, reconstructive surgeons, pathologists, nurse and imaging navigators, and nutritionists focus on each patient with consideration for her overall health and well being. Adept at treating newly diagnosed patients as well as those experiencing recurrent disease, we welcome patients from the Group as well as those from other practices and physicians. We have a board-certified oncologist and surgeon available at all times."
The NCBC is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to excellence in breast health care for the general public. Members include breast health professionals who provide direct patient care and corporations and businesses that provide services or products to breast health professionals and their organizations.
