The following are comments from Bailey Gold regarding her past, present and future:
TAPinto: How did you get started in swimming competitively and how long have you been swimming?
Bailey: I started swimming competitively at Berkeley Swim Club when I was 8 and loved it. After that summer I joined Berkeley Aquatic Club for year-round training.
TAPinto: What do you like most about your team?
The Governor Livingston Team is such a close-knit bunch who all root for each other. One person's success is everyone's success. Coach Closs really motivates us to do our best and always has some last minute words of encouragement for us before meets.
TAPinto: Do you have any pre-meet rituals/superstitions?
Bailey: I listen to my pump-up songs and dance (usually embarrassingly) behind the blocks before my races.
TAPinto: Have you changed your training to reach the MOC level?
Bailey: I swim year-round with my club team and have already been training intensively.
TAPinto: Have you met your Season Goal?
Bailey: My goal for the girl's team was to have our medley relay make it to MOCs and WE DID IT! My personal goal is to go under 58 in backstroke, which I hope to do at MOCs.
TAPinto: What is your favorite class/professor/why?
Bailey: My favorite class is Chemistry because I love stoichiometry with Dr. Morgan!
TAPinto: Future plans -- College and major?
Bailey: I am a sophomore so I am just starting the college process, but I know I want to be a radiologist in the future.
TAPinto: Favorite athlete of all time?
Bailey: Derek Jeter is probably my favorite athlete of all time because he was a great team leader for the Yankees and an amazing athlete as well.
