TAPinto: What year was your company founded? Did you found the company? Why did you choose to get involved in this business?

Peace of Mind Yoga was founded in 2019. Back in 2005, Kris Silvestry was lucky enough to be able to see a wonderful counselor due to the stress, anxiety and insomnia that accompanies graduate school. The office she attended had a yoga studio attached to the office. The space blended mind and body in their practice like she had never seen before. Kris called her friend and told her about the office 14 years ago. Kris told her that one day she would love to emulate the same practice of the union of yoga and therapy. Simultaneously, Kris was practicing ashtanga yoga at a local YMCA in Dunmore, PA. The combination of yoga and therapy was incredibly healing for her, allowing Kris to enjoy and thrive during her time in Pennsylvania. Fast forward to 2018. Kris completed her yoga certification and trauma focused yoga certificate. Now this dream of opening a space that would allow people to feel the same way she did has come to fruition.  The two spaces (Peace of Mind Counseling and Wellness Center and Peace of Mind Yoga) are under the same roof with the same feel. This space belong to everyone.

TAPinto: What is unique about your business?

We are a combination of mind, body, and spirit - in all senses. We offer a community of support and we strive to bring peacefulness in everyone’s lives, no matter where their journey is taking them. Our studio will also be a home to different community and professional trainings. From Sandplay trainings to trauma informed practices, we will provide trainings for all people in the community.

TAPinto:  What is most important for people to know about your business?

We provide a safe, non-judgmental space for all ages and skill levels, from beginners to seasoned practitioners.  We strive to have a community of people who can not only come together during practice but create an environment open to friendship, community and growth.

TAPinto: What sets you apart from your competition?

In the world of yoga, we do not consider other studios as competition. The myth of scarcity is just that...a myth. There is enough room for every wellness and yoga space as we all have our niches. Our niche will be wellness in the form of mind, body and spirit. We will work to destigmatize mental health and work to create a wonderful supportive community.

TAPinto: Anything else that you want to share about yourself or your business?

Our mission is to open this space to not only yoga lovers but to people looking to overcome daily stresses, work through depression and anxiety, learn through trainings, start working out, relieve pain, connect with others and make friends. Yoga is so much more than asanas, meditation and inversions, it is a way of life. We not only want to heal the mind but also make the body feel energized and loved no matter who you are. We want to create a supportive loving community of people from all walks of life. Come to learn or just come for the savasana!

We’ve created a New Student Special that allows you to try out as many different classes and instructors, as often as you like, for thirty days for $49!
