The New American-Israeli Relationship: Crisis or Opportunity?

Congregation Ohr Shalom-Summit JCC invites the public to AN EVENING WITH YOSSI KLEIN HALEVI on Wednesday, March 29th at 7:15 pm. Yossi Klein Halevi, a senior fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem will present:THE NEW AMERICAN ISRAELI RELATIONSHIP: CRISIS OR OPPORTUNITY?”  He will discuss the new administration and how American Israel relations will be affected. The American-born Israeli author, journalist and speaker co-directs the Shalom Hartman Institute’s Muslim Leadership Initiative and presents seminars focusing on Arab-Israel relations. Yossi has been active in Middle East reconciliation work, and serves as chairman of Open House, an Arab Israeli-Jewish Israeli center in the town of Ramle, near Tel Aviv.

His most recent book Like Dreamers: The Story of the Israeli Paratroopers Who Reunited Jerusalem and Divided a Nation, won the Jewish Book of the Year Award for the Jewish Book Council. Halevi has published columns and op-ed pieces in the Jerusalem Post, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times and the Washington Post.  He is the Israel correspondent and a contributing editor of The New Republic. Halevi also lectures on American and Canadian college campuses about Israeli politics and culture.  In 2013 he was a visiting professor at the Jewish Theological Seminary.
