The Road to Carnegie Hall - Auditions Are Open!!

The Continuo Arts Foundation Choral Ensembles serve as Choirs-In-Residence in Carnegie Hall. Auditions are not being accepted for the 2017-2018 season

How do you get to Carnegie Hall?  Practice, Practice, Practice, of course, AND call The  Continuo Arts Foundation!  Home of the Children’s Choir, Youth Choir and Civic Chorale of New Jersey, these Continuo Arts ensembles serve as Choirs-in-Residence in Carnegie Hall and members have the opportunity to also perform in local and international venues.  Recently seen on the PBS feature documentary “Requiem For My Mother” and still on the Billboard charts after seven weeks on the top ten, Continuo Arts choir members experiences are unprecedented in distinction and prestige.

Auditions are now open for the 2017-2018 season with opportunity for singers of all ages.  Interested performers may call 908-264-5324 to schedule an appointment or attend an Open House Sing-IN at The Continuo Arts Conservatory of Music at 36 Chatham Road in Summit on Monday, September 11th, and Tuesday, September 12th. Free sessions for children through adults will offer an opportunity to sing, meet other singers, learn about the Continuo Arts Choruses, make audition appointments, and enjoy refreshments together.

Beginning the Sing-In on Monday, Sept.11th is Seniors Sing! an ensemble for the young at heart meeting at 10:30-11:30 a.m. followed by the Youth Choir of New Jersey (high school boys and girls) from 7:30-9 pm.  On Tuesday, Sept. 12th all children ages 6 – 12 meet at 4:30-5:30, Middle School Girls from 5:30-7:00 and finally the Civic Chorale for Adult singers from 7:30-9:00.

In addition to local concert series, community outreach performances and collaborations, Continuo Arts offers unique musical and travel experiences to its participants including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Washington, DC, Prague, Czech Republic, and Italy, with past  performances at St. Peter’s Basilica, Sistine Chapel, Paper Mill Playhouse and many other world-class venues of note.
