To the Editor:
Regarding the June 23, 2015 meeting, Mr. Delia stated that he would like the people to vote on the proposed land deal with Little Flower.
I happen to agree with him. As of March 31, 2015, we are 21 million dollars in debt.
Needless to say, Mr. Pirone' s response, again, was not acceptable..."people who call for a vote want to run out the clock and smear dirt."
Mayor Woodruff's remark was "this is not a democracy, but a democratic republic."
This is more like a dictatorship. The council wants us to put our trust in them, with no transparency.
An example is a secret meeting with Little Flower on May 11, 2010 and the secret hiring of a Public Relations person.
Yes, the Town Council has every right to voice their opinion as they are citizens of Berkeley Heights. However, NOT to be disrespectful to the citizens. This has happened on numerous occasions and again Tuesday night.
I will not tolerate it any longer. Next time, I will formally request whatever council person to step down from office immediately.
