BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Berkeley Heights Communication Committee has received its first donation check to support the weekly news program "This Week in Berkeley Heights."
Nicholas Schiavo, chairman of the Communication Committee, accepted the check from Dr. Patrick Smith, clinic director of Smith Chiropractic in Berkeley Heights. Smith presented the check on behalf of the annual Berkeley Heights 5K Charity Road Race & Fitness Walk.
"This donation is a great example of one Berkeley Heights group helping another," Schiavo said.
'This Week in Berkeley Heights" a 15-minute weekly news program, was created to help keep the residents of Berkeley Heights and surrounding towns better informed as to what is going on in town with input from Town Hall, the public schools, the local business community, local civic groups, and township services.
The show airs new each Thursday at 7 p.m. and then daily at 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. for the week, and is continually available at www.glhstv.com by clicking the "On Demand" tab and selecting "This Week in Berkeley Heights." All the shows are indexed and available.
"As race director of the Berkeley Heights 5K, I am always looking for ways to use the funds our charity foundation raises to give back and support vital local programs, when we learned that 'This week in Berkeley Heights' was looking for financial support, it made prefect sense to donate to this important new community effort," Smith said. "All of us at the Berkeley Heights 5K are proud to be the first to donate, and hope that 'This Week in Berkeley Heights' will continue to grow as a vital link, connecting everyone in Berkeley Heights together in a positive way."
