MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ - On September 19, 2017 at 7:59 a.m., police responded to the area of Route 22 West near Pembrook Road where a large tree fell across both the East bound and West bound lanes of Route 22 during the morning rush hour, according to a release from Mountainside Police Lieutenant Joseph Giannuzzi.

Peembrook Road is on Westboubd 22, roughly located between Lawrence Avenue and New Providence Road on Eastbound 22.

Three vehicles were struck by the tree making one vehicle inoperable and disabled.

One driver was transported to the hospital by Atlantic Ambulance Service as a precaution.

There were no serious injuries .

The tree was removed from the roadway and the road reopened to traffic.
