The Union County HazMat unit responded to help deal with an unknown amount of fuel which was spilled, apparently by ruptured fuel tanks.

The department also requested a unit from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to respond to the scene to help deal with a “confirmed storm drain impact from the fire,” BNN reported.
