BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - About a month ago, a beloved Columbia Middle School science teacher, Marcie Hall, suffered a sudden medical emergency while six months pregnant. She is making "amazing progress physically." Her family is happy to report that she continues her "journey to normalcy" from her home, according to a Go Fund Me page set up by her family.
"Her progress has been far better than anyone could have expected or hoped for," said her husband, Joseph Hall, in a recent post. "We still have a long road ahead of us before things return to normal, but the fact they can [return to normal] is a miracle on its own."
Two of Marcie's students, Ryan Tarabokia and Quentin Gallagher, have organized a bake sale at Little Flower Church prior to CCD classes on Monday, February 12 at 3 p.m. The funds raised will be donated to Marcie's family to help with the expenses during her long journey to recovery.
The outpouring of support has touched Marcie and her family. Her sister, Megan Nahal, shared the message that Marcie "loves teaching and her students, and misses them very much."
