MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ - A pedestrian was struck by a tree on Central Avenue in Mountainside Wednesday evening according to a report at 9:39 p.m. by Breaking News Network. EMS requested Medivac which was denied.
There have been several reports of road closures with trees, poles and wires down throughout the borough with numerous households experiencing power outages. Please stay off the roads and be safe.
The Mountainside Police Department issued the following statement:
"On March 7, 2018 at 8:51pm, the Mountainside Police Department responded to Central Avenue for a report of an injured person. An investigation revealed that Curts Fetzko, 64, of Mountainside, NJ, was struck by a tree limb while operating a snow blower.
Initial reports indicate that the pedestrian was found lying on the ground with the limb on top of him. Fetzko was treated for a head injury at the scene by the Mountainside Rescue Squad and the Atlantic Health Paramedics. He was transported to University Hospital in Newark, NJ."
