Mental Health First Aid Training is training for everyone who may find themselves in the company of someone needing immediate intervention, whether you have some type of clinical background or not. After the course, you will be able to:
- Recognize the indicators that someone around you is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.
- Provide the first aid until appropriate treatment and support are received or until the crisis resolves.
Like any other first aid course, a concrete action plan will be taught to participants of Mental Health First Aid Training to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.
Mental Health First Aid Training is taught by Stephanie Simon, Director of Bridgeway Crisis Intervention Services in Jersey City, Hudson County CIT Mental Health Coordinator.
