TOMS RIVER, NJ - Governor Livingston indoor track athletes were crowned NJSIAA Central Group 2 Champions in three events at the sectional meet this past Sunday at the Bennett Indoor Sports complex in Toms River: junior Victoria Vanriele in the 800 meter run, senior Hanna Nordstrom in pole vault, and the 4 X 400 relay team of sophomore Sami Erickson, junior Alex Cassu, senior Caitlin Colendenski and Vanrielle.
Also, Saturday at the prestigious Millrose Games in New York, Vanriele ran the 600m and placed second with a personal best of 1:30.64.
The following athletes won medals placing in the top six and will continue onto the Group 2 Championships next weekend:

Victoria Vanriele in 2:12.33 in the 800m run
Hannah Nordstrom in the pole vault clearing 8-06
4x400 quartet of Sami Erickson, Alex Cassu, Caitlin Colendenski and Victoria Vanrielle ( 4:09.24)

Sami Erickson in the 55m dash with a 7.52, personal best
Alex Cassu in the 55mh in 9.21
4th place
Junior Rachel Greene in pole vault, clearing 7-06
5th place
Sophomore Caroline Mondelli in 1600 m in 5:33.07
Junior Allison Schwartz in pole vault, clearing 7-06
6th place
Caroline Mondelli ran a 23:23.59 in the 3200m
On the boys’ side three athletes placed in the top 6 and will move onto the Group 2 Championships next weekend.:
- Senior Darren DelDuca placed fourth in high jump clearing 5-08 and sophomore Kyle Arnold placed sixth in high jump clearing 5-06.
- Sophomore Connor Splaine placed fourth in shotput with a toss of 39-06.5
