Come to the Wharton School of the Performing Arts Summer Camp Open House on  Saturday, March 18, from 10  3 p.m. at 60 Locust Ave., in Berkeley Heights.

Forget the winter chill—let’s think summer! The Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts has a fabulous lineup of summer enrichment programs for youth and teens. Because they are more than just summer “camps,” Wharton is renaming and rebranding with the intention of providing fulfilling, fun, engaging, and yes, enriching summer experiences.

Wharton summer programs are geared for kids ages 5 to 18, and include beginning music and theater explorations, as well as instrument-specific and orchestral experiences. And because so many families travel in the summer, Wharton is offering the flexibility of one-week programs as well as multi-week.  Each program offers something exciting and different from the week before, so you can sign up for more than one!

Says Executive Director Karen Deschere, “We’ve listened to our community and have adapted our summer programs to be intensive (but not intense!) learning opportunities. Some instrumental programs and the Summer Musical Theater Company begin with a placement audition—nothing intimidating—so that instructors can place each student for the most successful outcome. We’ve worked hard to ensure that every program is tailored to offer the most rewarding and enjoyable experience for your child.”

The Summer Camp Open House is a free event and will be held at the Performing Arts School located at 60 Locust Avenue in Berkeley Heights. Campers can take advantage of a tuition discount by registering before the Early Registration deadline on May 31, 2017.
