BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – On June 2, 2017 the Mary Kay McMillin Early Childhood Center held their 8th annual “Wheel-A-Thon”, a charitable event for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  The school community raised over $2,200.00 to support the hospital in its mission to advance cures, and find means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. The event was made possible with the support of the school nurse Mrs. Berry, the MKM PTO, the school's staff members and the Berkeley Heights Police Department.

Officers from the Berkeley Heights Police Department spoke to the first grade students about bike safety, emphasizing the the importance of wearing their helmets each time they ride on their "wheels" (bikes, scooters, skateboards etc).  The “cheering section”, made up of teachers, students and volunteers, clapped energetically as the first graders rode several laps around the the playground blacktop. Taylor Rental in Berkeley Heights generously donated colorful balloon arches to make the track even more festive for this wonderful event.

Anyone who would like to donate can do so using the following link: fundraising.stjude.org/MKMECC
