BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - National EMS Week – a time to celebrate EMTs and the important work they work do for our nation’s communities was established in 1974 by President Gerald Ford.  This year National EMS Week is May 20 to May 26 and the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS) can think of no better way to celebrate EMS Week than by teaching YOU, our community, life-saving skills.

Join us for 1 hour CPR/AED classes on Sunday, May 20 at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m.  Classes are free, ages 14 yrs and up are welcome. Did you know that if you know how to do CPR/use an AED, within 2 minutes of someone having a cardiac arrest, YOU can double a person’s chances of survival!  So, bring your family + friends this Sunday and learn CPR. For more information or to sign up email CPR@bhvrs.org.  Please note: this is a non-certification class.

Also on May 20, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., we’ll be having our annual Plant and Flower Sale.  Proceeds support our Relay for Life team - BH EMS (Bringing Hope Every Minute to Survivors) - and the American Cancer Society.  We are excited to announce that Leah’s Lemonade Stand will also be there!  Come join us!

BHVRS is always looking for new members - EMTs, non-EMT Auxiliary Members, EMRs, and Cadets (16-18 year olds).  For more information visit www.bhvrs.org and our facebook page (facebook.com/BHVRS)
