Moms Helping Moms Foundation is pleased to announce that it recently received a $3,000 grant from Investors Foundation. The grant will help further the mission of providing low income families in New Jersey with diapers and other essential baby items that are needed to give their children a safe, healthy and happy start to life.
“I think this current crisis is bringing a lot of awareness to diaper need among NJ families, but we need to let people know this is an issue every day, not just in times of crisis. In normal times diaper need affects the health and wellbeing of one in three families in the U.S. Chances are we all know someone, or have been the person, who has or will experience the struggle to afford diapers. Moms Helping Moms is here to help parents and raise awareness about the critical role that diapers play in the health and well-being of families,” states Deputy Director Megan Deaton.
From January to September 1, 2020, Moms Helping Moms distributed 400,638 diapers to families throughout New Jersey. For comparison, 270,618 diapers were distributed in all of 2019. To reach families across all counties in New Jersey, MHM has added 20 new partner agencies since March. Partners include schools, faith-based organizations, and social service agencies.
