Essential Hatha Yoga with Flow

Essential Hatha Yoga is a traditional yoga class focusing on holding the poses (asanas). The poses are held anywhere from 5 to 10 breaths. Holding the poses this length of time greatly increases flexibility and strength while enhancing overall posture. This class is taught in a noncompetitive environment and is designed to encourage each student to know and appreciate their own body through yoga. Using breath-work and yoga postures (with modifications as needed) the goal of each class is to gently strengthen and increase flexibility in the body while exploring the connections between mind, body, and spirit. This class can have a gentle flowing movement to it. Each class will include reclining, seated, standing and kneeling poses. You will walk away from this class with a relaxed, healthy body and a sense of well-being. Learn yoga in class -- take it off the mat -- and bring it into all aspects of your life.

Quitting Can Be Winning

July 30, 2021

I will begin by quoting a recent Instagram message by Justin Bieber.

“Nobody will ever understand the pressures you face! I know we don’t know each other but I’m so proud of the decision to withdraw.  It’s as simple as – what does it mean to gain the whole world but forfeit your soul. Sometimes our no’s are more powerful than our yes’s.  ...

Watchung Planning Board’s Approval of Daycare Center

To The Editor:

The Watchung planning board’s approval in July of an application to build a daycare center on the very edge of the borough’s border with Scotch Plains—and far from where it will have any negative effects on Watchung residents—strains belief.  It doesn’t belong there and there are plenty of alternatives.

I live around the corner from the ...
