From Birmingham to Botswana - The Journey of an African American International Traveler

The New Providence Diversity Committee welcomes the community to the New Providence Memorial Library tomorrow, Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 2:00pm-3:00pm for a very special presentation: “From Birmingham to Botswana -  The Journey of an African American International Traveler,” celebrating Black History Month.

Promoting the Vision of Race Unity series continues this year with a talk by Gwen Moten who will share her personal experiences from the Civil Rights era to her travels internationally to promote racial unity. 

Ms Moten is acknowledged as a 'Living Legend' by the citizens of Newark, and her life story has been recorded by the American Folklore Center at the Library of Congress and at the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Her life experiences and career are expressed in her one-woman show:  From Birmingham to Botswana -  The Journey of an African American International Traveler. Please join us for this very special event.
