In Berkeley Heights, We Respect Our Neighbors

We are proud to be running to serve the people of Berkeley Heights as Mayor and Township Council members, respectively. As we’ve met with and listened to residents across our town for the last several months, one of the most important things they’ve told us is that they’re sick and tired of gutter-worthy, political mudslinging. Our town deserves better than the toxic politics we ...

Honest Results Should Prevail

September 20, 2018

I am not a candidate for office. I am a volunteer and helping to run the local Mayor/Town Council campaign. I have a passion for making Berkeley Heights the best town it can be!

Over the last few months on social media and more recently in a political mailing and letter to the editor, my contribution to our Town has been called into question.  In addition, I have been called a local ...

Facts Matter: Straight Talk From Angie Devanney

Stephen Yellin, Alvaro Medeiros and I have pledged to run a campaign based upon facts and the issues voters are most concerned about in Berkeley Heights.  It was our hope that the Mayor and his team would do likewise, and we publicly asked them to join us in making this pledge.  Instead, it is clear they have decided that it is better to “go low, not high” and attempt to ...

Real Transparency?

To the editor:

This fall, Berkeley  Heights residents face an important decision in their vote for Mayor and Township Council.

Our team, including Michael D’Aquila and Michelle Greco, encompass a lengthy background in law, engineering, and finance – providing important experience that benefits residents to best manage your tax dollars. With one of the lowest municipal tax ...

Chatham Borough Council Member Weber Expresses Fear that "Pot Shop" is Coming to Town; Public Input Sought

CHATHAM, NJ - Bob Weber warned that the state legislature and Gov. Phil Murphy are about to legalize recreational marijuana use in the state and urged fellow Borough of Council members to take action at Tuesday's regular meeting.

Weber said that he was prompted to bring up the issue for discussion because the legal counsel for a marijuana shop has made inquiries.

Members of the university board of governors asked him to remain at least two more years, and he agreed, officials said.

Too Soon

I got a call today from the anxious parent of a sixth grader who wanted some guidance on how to best help his student position herself for success in college.  What classes should she take now? Would it be worth it to investigate private school? When is it too early to start looking at college campuses?

While thinking college with a 12-year-old may seem crazy to some, any parent reading ...

Smart Charitable Giving That’s Easy and Cuts More of Your Taxes Than The “Write a Check” Route

Here’s a smart way to make charitable donations that’s easy and cuts more of your taxes than the regular “write a check, take a tax deduction” route. The tool I recommend is called a Charitable Trust (sometimes also called a Donor Advised Fund). The time needed to set it up? As little as 5-10 minutes. Your tax savings? Can be substantially higher than just ...

Colder Weather is Coming – The Top Ten Reasons to Maintain Your Furnace (or Boiler!)

As summer winds down and kids head back to school, most of us in New Jersey begin looking forward to fall. With the promise of cooler autumn evenings, campfires, s’mores, and all things ‘Pumpkin Spice,’ it can be easy for home maintenance tasks to go undone.

Here at A.J. Perri, we would like to remind you that winter is coming, and now is the best time to get your ...
