Meadowbrook Country Day Camp Invites Prospective Campers to "Meadowfest" Open House

LONG VALLEY, NJ – Those interested in checking out Meadowbrook Country Day Camp for next summer are invited to attend “Meadowfest,” a fun-filled day of fall events for prospective campers including hayrides, pumpkin picking, crafts, scavenger hunts, games and prizes, face painting, apple cider, food and more.

The event is being held on Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain date Oct. 13), at camp, which is located at 73 East Valley Brook Road, in Long Valley. Attendees are asked to RSVP by calling (908) 876-3429 or emailing Marty@meadowbrookdaycamp.com.

“This is a great way to get an introduction to Meadowbrook and for you and your children to tour camp,” said owner Mason Goldberg. “Come see our beautiful 50-acre facility and learn about our exciting program. Meet our on-site Owners/Directors and Large Leadership Team and bring friends. All children must be chaperoned by an adult. No drop-offs or pets are allowed.”

According to Goldberg, now is the best time to begin thinking about plans for next summer.

"If you are considering day camp options for the summer of 2020, visiting camp now, before the snow hits the ground, is a great way to see the Meadowbrook fun and excitement ‘in action’ and is a great way to do your camp research,” said Goldberg.

Meadowbrook Country Day Camp is an American Camp Association (ACA)-accredited day located on 50 acres in Long Valley, just outside of Chester. Meadowbrook’s traditional day camp program services children ages 3 to 14.

The camp boasts a lush 50-acre wooded campus; mature/professional staff; door-to-door transportation using only air-conditioned mini-buses; a unique focus on building life skills; a Red Cross swim program in heated pools, kid-friendly, healthy lunches served every day; boating; mountain biking; sports, ropes courses; and weekly themed special events at camp and on buses.

One thing that makes Meadowbrook unique is that all tips are included in tuition and there are no extra costs later on.

Activities include: swim instruction based on the Red Cross Skill Levels and free swim in a 9,000-square-foot pool complex with three heated pools; archery; tennis; basketball; softball; soccer; hockey; ninja warrior; archery tag; cooking; woodshop; dance; lacrosse; flag football; nature; fishing; Newcomb; challenge courses; canoeing, kayaking, paddle boats and bumper boats on a private lake; gymnastics; various arts and crafts; and more.

There are also some unique activities like mountain bikes and boards; Ultimate Frisbee; Tapu-aie; GaGa; Handball; Speedball; Chocolate; Arcade; Bonfire Cooking; Earth Wind & Fire; Kiddie Speedway; Rocketry; and more. New additions this season include a Ninja Warrior Course and Archery Tag.

Change we can agree on means changing how we perceive our seniors. Our seniors have built Berkeley Heights on their backs —now it’s our turn to give back to them.

Township Leadership means that we are tackling the three most important needs of senior living: 1) health 2) wellness, and 3) socialization.

We must strive to create programs exclusively for our senior population ...

I am sure many residents have read or heard about the recent positive testing for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), a rare mosquito borne virus, near the Emerson Lane area of the Township.
