New Providence American Legion Holds Oktoberfest Fundraiser

The  New Providence American Legion invites you to our Oktoberfest Fundraiser on Friday, October 11, 2019. At the American Legion Post 433, 357 Elkwood Avenue, New Providence.

The menu will be: Stuffed Pork Chops, Wursts, Rotkohl (Red Cabbage), Salzkartoffel (Boiled Potatoes), Spaetzle, Sauerkraut, Dinner Rolls, Salad, Deserts, .Soda and Coffee. (BYOB)

Adults: $30 in advance, $35 at the door, Under 17 $20 & $25, Under 6 Free

Tickets may be purchased at DeCorso Community Center, 15E 4th Street, New Providence Wednesdays between 9:00 am and Noon starting October 3rd or at the American Legion Post 357 Elkwood Avenue, New Providence on Tuesdays evenings after 8pm.

“The American Legion’s presence began in New Providence in 1946 serving New Providence, Chatham, Berkeley Heights, Stirling and Gillette. With it’s founding by returning World War II veterans .  Since then, Post 433 has taken an active role in the community through sponsorship of community activities, interaction with the Lyons VA Hospital, support of the American Legion’s National Emergency Fund, and assistance to veterans in need. We also provide opportunities for community service by both youth and adults, whether they are service-connected or not.“ commented Paul Dormont, Post Adjutant.

American Legion is the largest and most powerful organization of U.S. wartime veterans and their families. Since 1919 the American Legion has delivered substantial improvements for Veterans and their families.
