Our House, Our Run Goes Virtual for the Second Year

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — Our House has announced their 22nd annual Our House, Our Run will go virtual again in 2021.  “Last year’s event was such a success and given that the pandemic is still a real concern we wanted to be sure those choosing to participate and support Our House this year felt safe doing so,” says Dawn Knill, Our House Director of Development.

The event will kick off the morning of May 15th and be open to participants through May 21st 12 PM.  A closing ceremony will take place the morning of May 22nd.  As a virtual event, each participant chooses a course to run or walk on the day and time of their choice (within the window stated above).  There will also be a variety of virtual information sessions and giveaways available throughout the week on the event Facebook page.  Everyone who registers by April 23rd is guaranteed to receive a tech tee to commemorate the event. Contactless shirt pickup will once again be offered.

“This year we are excited to offer the team distance challenge once again and have included some improvements suggested by past participants.  Additionally, we have added an individual mileage challenge, the House Hustle.  Be sure to register early to maximize the days you can incorporate into this challenge,” states Race Director Tears Smith.

All the details on how to register, create a team, be a fundraiser or become a sponsor can be found at https://runsignup.com/OurHouseOurRun . All the proceeds will support the programs and services provided to adults with disabilities by Our House.

May 3, 2021

Not So Random Thoughts on Pocket Billiards, Geometry, Post-Modernism, and Education

A business associate told me upon learning of our common interest in the game of pocket billiards or pool that having proficiency in the game of pool is a sign of a misspent youth. Playing pool meant time spent inside pool halls or recreation halls trying to master a game of sinking multi-colored balls with a long skinny stick in one of six pockets on rectangular tables covered by usually green ...
