Berkeley Heights is Better Together with Yellin & Medeiros

September 15, 2021

Dear neighbors,

As we have seen with the aftermath of Hurricane Ida as well as the COVID-19 pandemic, Berkeley Heights shows what we are made of when the time calls to help each other. As we’ve visited areas hit hard by the flooding, we’ve seen and heard how neighbors are helping each other out, while our First Responders continued to make us proud by working round-the-clock to ...

Pamela Stanley for BOE: Bringing Community Together

My name is Pamela Stanley and I am seeking your vote to serve on the Berkeley Heights Board of Education. My husband and I have been raising two children (5 and 9) here for the past ten years. When I was deciding to run, all my reasons came back to the fact that I love Berkeley Heights and want to see it thrive. I did not grow up in a community like this. Sometimes we can start to take these ...

Good Evening Mayor Devanney and members of the Town Council.

Councilman Yellin

I wanted to comment on Councilman Yellin's Letter to the Editor. He states that it did not cost the township any money for the attorney to work on his proposal. The attorney works on a retainer that is used to reimburse him for any work he does for the town. If at the end of the year it is unused, the money comes back to us the taxpayers. I do not know what world he lives in, ...

Protecting Our Families – Is – What Matters

On Wednesday night, the Township Council voted to reject an ordinance I proposed to formally create Smoke-Free Zones at our public schools, parks, sports and recreational fields, and our new Municipal Complex. The ordinance would see Berkeley Heights officially place marijuana and tobacco on the same level as alcohol – something that should not be used in these public places, where families ...

Level the Playing Field for Local News

The lack of high-quality, objective local news outlets is a cause for great concern. On the local level, residents are not adequately informed and are largely uninvolved in their communities and local governance. Meanwhile, disinformation and misinformation spread as more and more people rely on social media, forums and partisan news sites for their news and information.

Are You Ready for the Great New Jersey Bag Ban?

On May 4, 2022, shoppers in Union County and throughout New Jersey will be in for a shock when they go to check out their groceries at the supermarket. Not a single-use paper or plastic shopping bag will be in sight.

It’s all part of a new state law aimed at cutting down on waste, litter and pollution. Plastic bags get most of the blame, but single-use paper bags are also notorious for ...

The remnants of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ida brought devastating flooding and significantly damaged many homes in the area with localized damage to others. A non-material impact of Ida is that it has caused yet another shift in the already complex real estate market. I have already seen first hand each of the below impacts across my current portfolio of real estate ...
