Primrose School of Berkeley Heights Spring Fling Charity

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Primrose School of Berkeley Heights is excited to announce our Annual Spring Fling Event. Since our opening in 2014, our school has donated over $10,000 to community organizations such as the Rotary Club, the Berkeley Heights Rescue Squad and the purchasing of the immensely used Drug Awareness & Education Kit for the Berkeley Heights Police Department.

This year, our school is excited to partner with our teacher’s choice of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well as continue our sponsorship of the Berkeley Heights Police Department. Funds will also be donated to the Primrose Children’s Foundation, which will be donating funds collected across all Primrose Schools to the Save the Children foundation.

This year’s event will take place at the Primrose School of Berkeley Heights on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 10 a.m.  to 1 p.m.  Our school will be hosting a Camping themed picnic with lots of fun activities for the whole family. We hope you will come and enjoy good Music, Food, Silent Auction, Raffles, and Games! Tickets will be sold at the door or can be pre-purchased at the school.

All proceeds will go towards St. Jude’s Hospital, Berkeley Heights Police Department and the Primrose Children’s Foundation. Our Silent Auction will end at 1 p.m. and winners will be called on Monday May 21, 2018.

Leadership Starts from the Top

October 12, 2018

Make no mistake about it, I personally know first-hand that our municipal and Board of Education employees, and our volunteers do a great job with the limited resources they have to work with. But being a member of a governing body, particularly one with a small population, means jumping in the car, driving to Trenton or Elizabeth and advocating for County, NJDOT and other state dollars - not ...

Conservatives are Without Representation in Berkeley Heights Mayoral Race

As a conservative Republican, the 2018 Berkeley Heights Mayoral Election has no true representative for me. I have spoken with many others in Berkeley Heights who are feeling the same way.

The Berkeley Heights Mayoral race has Angie Devanney (D) against Robert Woodruff (R).  In my opinion neither of these candidates is ideal. In a normal election I would side with the more conservative of ...

Tangents…Life’s Many Connections Through the Lens of Psychology

October 15, 2018

Welcome to my new column, Tangents.  The word tangent can have a variety of meanings, for example, in geometry a tangent refers to "a straight line or plane that touches a curve or curved surface at a point, but if extended does not cross it at that point." Leibniz defined it as the line through a pair of infinitely close points on the curve, but for this column, I will use the ...

Order of Operations

As we trudge through submission season this year I’ve found some questions that have surprised me.  Those of us shepherding families through their college applications, myself included, can mistakenly start “talking shop” with the assumption that parents and students are following along.  Acronyms start flying around and we get into our groove, not realizing ...
