Joanne was born and raised in Manhattan, NY, NY to Frank and Elsie Laracy. She graduated Holy Child Academy, continued on to Grace Institute and worked as an Executive Secretary at Young and Rubicam. She married her beloved husband, Joseph in 1960 and eventually moved to Berkeley Heights, NJ to raise her family in 1968.

As a teenager Joanne was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent many surgeries over the years that eventually left her blind. That blindness did not define her, she had a very special way of connecting with people. With the touch of her hands and the sound of your voice you were forever in her heart and mind. She enjoyed being around her family and friends and going for walks outside with her husband, Joseph.

Joanne is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph, her loving children John Haddad and his wife, Kelly, Phil Haddad and his wife, Christine, and Jay Haddad, dear sister of Mary Jane McElwreath and cherished grandmother of Shane, Jack, Teagan, Allison, Turner, Quinn, Nolan, Sophie, Jason and Christopher. Joanne was pre-deceased by her brother John Laracy.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations in Joanne's memory made through In Memory Of  www.inmemoryof-memorial.org for the American Brain Tumor Association.
