BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ, NJ -- As of Tuesday, May 12, 2020, the Union County Department of Health reported a total of 14,203 coronavirus cases in the county and 899 deaths.

There have been a total of 236 cases (an increase of 45) reported in Berkeley Heights with 89 active (an increase of 45 cases), 147 closed cases, 32 recovered from LTC, 39 LTC deaths and 3 community deaths. The increase in reported cases is due to the testing of 100 asymptomatic residents at a Long Term Care facility, according to a statement by Mayor Angie Devanney on Facebook.

There are 77 active cases at LTC facilities (an increase of 43 cases), 147 closed cases and 32 recovered from LTC facilities.

  • Autumn Lakes: 51 cases, 16 deaths
  • Runnells Specialized Hospital: 118 cases, 20 deaths

Statewide, there is a total of 140,743 cases with 9,508 deaths reported, according to the State Department of Health.
