BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The teachers at Columbia Middle School (CMS) will be hosting their second annual 'Pie of the Tiger' fundraiser to benefit the NJ Sharing Network on Monday, June 15.

The event originated to honor the memory of two hometown friends, Dan Basillo and Annie Young, who passed away and gave the ultimate gift of life through organ and tissue donation. NJ Sharing Network NJ is the local non-profit organization responsible for bringing awareness of organ and tissue donations and saves lives through the recovery and placement of donated organs and tissue for those in need of a life-saving transplant.

Last year, the CMS teachers knew their students would get behind the opportunity to throw a pie in the face of a teacher or two. Students purchased tickets, raising nearly $700, for chances to throw a whipped cream pie in the face of a teacher or staff member. This year, the fundraiser is going digital -- but, don't worry -- the teachers will be getting pied on June 15!
