BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - In an awards ceremony at West Point last week, a Gov. Livingston student was given the Parents Club of West Point Dwight D Eisenhower Leadership Award.

Mikayla Sanchez, a junior at GL, received the award at the United States Military Academy on Saturday, April 21. 

The award recognizes "ou nation's outstanding high school juniors who have demonstrated exceptional performance in academics, athletics, community service, leadership, moral character, and to promote the values of national service as exemplified by Dwight D. Eisenhower,” according to information from West Point.

The Eisenhower Award recognition ceremony took place at a luncheon with keynote speaker who spoke about the characteristics of a good leader. This was followed by a brunch and an optional tour of the university.
