Wente Vineyards, the country's longest continuously operated family-owned winery, was founded in 1883. Wines are 100% estate grown and sustainably farmed in Livermore Valley and Monterey appellations. Wente has long been known as “The First Family of Chardonnay” since they were among the first in California to plant the grape in 1912. Today over 75% of all California Chardonnay is planted on what is known as “The Wente Clone.” Three different Wente Vineyards wines will be tasted, including “Riva Ranch Vineyard” Chardonnay, “Charles Wetmore Vineyard” Cabernet Sauvignon, and “Louis Mel” Sauvignon Blanc. This dinner includes a wine presentation by Niki Wente, viticulture manager and fifth generation winegrower, and Chris Giudice, vice president and national sales manager, and a three-course meal by Delicious Heights in Berkeley Heights.
