BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - In an effort to help people in Berkeley Heights manage the COVID-19 crisis, local volunteers have set up a number for residents restricted to their homes; they can call and get answers to questions, get connected to services, help get solutions to challenges or just chat if they are feeling lonely or apart.

The group, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, set up a phone line (908) 312-2066, and an email, for residents to contact. Township Council members are among the volunteer group taking “shifts” to answer the phones.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors worked with the Township Administrator to identify needs for services and to connect the group with efforts already underway in the Township. The group serves as the central clearinghouse for information on how/where residents can get what they need - whether it be information or services - during this public health emergency.
