BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Autumn Lake Healthcare at Berkeley Heights is no stranger to holiday spirit, and when opportunity presents, the staff at Autumn Lake goes all out to entertain -- Halloween is no exception!
Dressed as characters from Wizard of Oz, the staff led the residents down the "Yellow Brick Road" to fun yesterday to celebrate Halloween. Residents were in costume and enjoyed the stream of children that paraded throughout the day.
The Berkeley Heights YMCA students were first to come and more children came through to trick-or-treat after school to collect candy and share the joy of Halloween with the residents and guests.
Mid-day, the residents had a parade of their own as they came into the cafeteria to enjoy their festivities. The charismatic singer entertained the room and engaged the residents with sing-a-long favorites like "Sweet Caroline", "That's Amore", "Que sera, sera" and the classic Halloween tunes like Monster Mash and Witch Doctor. They were serving out frothy witches brew, cake and of course some candy for all the guests to enjoy.
To share in the spirit of Halloween, Autumn Lake partnered with the Township of Berkeley Heights earlier in the week to collect decorated pumpkins and held a community-wide Pumpkin Decorating Contest on Sunday. The judging panel consisted of Mayor Angie Devanney, Police Chief John DiPasquale and Fire Chief Tony Padovano. The lucky contest winner was awarded an iPad.
Autumn Lake Healthcare at Berkeley Heights earned the U.S. News and World Report "Best Of" rating for 2019/2020 Elite Skilled Nursing Facility for both Short Term Rehabilitation and Long Term Care.
