NEPTUNE, NJ - The girls swam with passion and drive, earned best times and Meet of Champion cuts, but that wasn’t enough to defend their Central Jersey, Group C sectional title Thursday night against Rumson Fair Haven in this championship match-up at the Neptune Aquatic Center.  Governor Livingston girls swim team fell short with a score of 96-74.

While the result was not as Coach Closs would have liked, he was nevertheless very happy that the girls “swam their hearts out.”   Feeling the pressure of the strong competition, senior Danielle Curtis rose to the challenge and earned herself a career best time in the 100 breaststroke. Freshman Kate Curran also showed her strength for the team with a first place finish in the 200 freestyle.

Coach Closs was excited that the girls added to their already impressive number of MOC cuts.
